Hey Guys,
Today I'm going to share my thoughts on my BoxyLuxe for December! For those of you unfamiliar with BoxyCharm, it is a monthly beauty subscription box. You receive 4-5 FULL SIZED products each month. The subscription is $21.00 a month and usually has a theme. They also offer an upgraded box every quarter called BoxyLuxe. This is an additional $28.99 a quarter and you get 8-9 full sized products.  BoxyCharm Premium is their 3rd subscription offering and its $35.00 a month. You get 6-7 Full Sized items in your box.  With BoxyCharm and BoxyCharm Premium you get to pick one item in your box from a couple options. With BoxyLuxe you get to pick two. The theme for December was "Whimsy". Keep reading to see what I got and to hear my thoughts. Also, make sure to check out the discount codes below for the month!

Storybook Cosmetics Little Briar Rose Palette $55.00 (on sale for $25.00)
Review: BoxyLuxe Dec 2019
This palette is a cute idea with the whole fair tale theme but it didn't excite me. I will wear a majority of the shadows but I won't wear all the colors. I also prefer warmer tones and this seems more cool toned. The brand didn't interest me in general but many people are saying these shadows are really good. For that reason, I am going to give it a try and see how I like the shadows. Update: I have used a few of the shades to create a look. The mattes aren't super pigmented but buildable. The shimmers are better quality and are really pigmented. I was happy with the end result.

Ciate London Confetti Highlighter $32.00
I was really bummed when I saw that I got this highlighter over the blushes that were featured. However, after using this, I was really impressed with the quality of the highlighter. It lasts all day and gives a pretty serious glow. It's a little dark for my skintone but I still think it looks really pretty.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Longwear Lipstick $21.00
I was happy to see that I got the liquid lipstick over the lip gloss. However, this shade dried also darker than I was hoping. It is almost a wine shade over a mauve shade. I would have preferred a more nude color as that is what I wear on a daily basis.

Kat Von D Dagger Tattoo Liner $20.00
Kat Von D has some of the best liquid liners on the market. I would have loved getting this 4 years ago. However, I stopped wearing eyeliner all together on my top lash line so I won't be using this.

I have tried this cleanser before as a sample and it was just okay to me. It is just a gel cleanser and has no exfoliating beads which is what I prefer. This will get used at some point.

I have never heard of this brand before and I wasn't excited to get it. I have a bunch of setting sprays and I mainly stick to only a few brands that I swear by.

I picked this as one of my choice items over an Elemis facial oil. I am so glad I did. This is a great moisturizer for my skin. I love gel moisturizers. It makes my skin feel very hydrated without feeling too heavy.

I'm not quite sure why this was even an item in the box. I feel like its kind of random. I haven't decided if I am going to use it or not.

This was a choice item and the only reason why I chose it was because I didn't want the lip line/wrinkle product. I wouldn't pay anywhere near the price for this roller. I haven't used many rollers with my skincare so I will have to read up on the directions before using this.

TOTAL VALUE: $311.50

Overall, I wasn't thrilled with this box. I feel like ever since BoxyCharm Premium was launched, that box is getting the best products and brands featured. I feel like many of the products in this month's BoxyLuxe were not exciting and not really products/brands that interested me. I feel like our choice products were kind of lame and I wish we had more products to choose from on choice. I would prefer color choice over product choice. I also thing we get too much skincare. Another reason I was disappointed is because there were products featured that I would have like to get (like the IGK Dry Shampoo and Ciate blush) that I did not receive. I am on the waitlist for BoxyCharm Premium and am trying to decide if I am going to cancel BoxyCharm and BoxyLuxe all together. Even though they are always still a good value, I feel like I am not using many of the items that I get each month.
