Emmy Favorites

Hi Ladies!
Did any of you watch the Emmys? I wanted to share my favorite red carpet looks from the night.

Keke Palmer in Rubin Singer
The color of this dress is gorgeous! Royal blue is one of my favorite colors to wear. I love the deep v neckline and train of this dress. Keke looked stunning in this dress. This was definitely my favorite of the night.

Sarah Hyland in Christian Siriano
I'm usually not a fan of crop tops paired with huge flowy gown-type skirts but I feel like this combo works. I think it is fun and youthful yet appropriate for the occasion. I also really like the color of the skirt.

Matthew McConaughey in Dolce and Gabbana and Camila Alves in Zuhair Murad
What a beautiful looking couple. I LOVE the sheer lace detail on Camila's dress. I also love the silohuette. Matthew looks great and I love his color choice. It really compliments Camila's dress.

Sofia Vergara in Roberto Cavalli
Sofia does not disappoint at these award shows! This is a gorgeous dress. I love the silver detailing on the bodice. She always picks dresses that flatter her body so well!

Viola Davis in Escada
I absolutely love the coloring of this dress against Viola's skintone. It really compliments it well. The blue/periwinkle color is very unique yet beautiful. I thought she looked very elegant.

Review: ColourPop Cosmetics Beach,Please Quad plus I Heart This and Cheeky

Hi Ladies!
Today I want to share with you a new and exciting cosmetic company, ColourPop Cosmetics! I came across them on Instagram a couple months ago and have been in love ever since! I believe that ColourPop just started doing business this year. ColourPop is known for their edgy, super pigmented, and unique shadows. I love ColourPop's young, fun, and rebellious attitude. Two fun facts about the company is that they are CRUELTY FREE and MADE IN THE US! Also, their shadows are only $5.00 each! They recently started coming out with special edition quads and limited edition colors. Below I will be reviewing their "Beach Please" Quad along with two of their single shadows, I Heart This and Cheeky.
Before I discuss the products, let me first talk about the awesome packaging and amazing customer service. The colors are eye catching, trendy, and fun. I also love that they took the time to HAND WRITE a personal note thanking me for my order. I have never been sent a note taking me for my order, never mine a hand written one. This made me feel very special. Also, ColorPop is all about joking around and having a sense of humor which is awesome. Lastly, they have great customer service with a very responsive team.

Get the Look for Less

Hi Ladies!
I have FINALLY finished another edition of Get the Look for Less. I have really struggled with getting this post finished. One of the reasons being that they take a lot of time to finish. I spend a significant amount of time searching for looks that are comparable to the ones that I find of celebrities. If I can't find anything similar that I am willing to post, I end up deleting it and searching for more looks. I also didn't have a ton of luck finding looks that I wanted to replicate. Does anyone know of better sites to find celebrities in everyday clothing? I use photos from the E! online site. I am trying to decide if I want to continue this series or if I want to think of a new fashion series to do instead.   Any feedback would be appreciated.

On to the looks....

Review: Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to review another Milani Baked Blush. This one is called Dolce Pink. I really liked the look of this blush in the pan however, it really wasn't as pigmented as I hoped it would be once I used it on my face. Dolce Pink is a rosy pink. It has quite a bit of shimmer and glitter to it. I didn't think it would affect the application and color as much as it did. It just really wasn't pigmented enough for my liking. It was also too glittery. It has a gritty feeling because of the glitter and isn't as soft as the matte colors from this baked blush line. I probably would not repurchase this again.

MTV VMAs Red Carpet

Hi Ladies!
How many of you watched the VMAs Sunday night? I dvr'd it since I had to watch the SERIES FINALE of True Blood. But anyways, I did check out the red carpet looks at the pre-show. I must say...I didn't love a lot of the looks I was seeing. I know the VMAs are more of a fun and laid back award show but I just wasn't wowed with many of the looks I saw.

That being said, here were the standouts for me:
Gwen Stefani
Gwen has her own fun and funky style that suits her well. I thought this was a nice two piece outfit that wasn't too casual but definitely more laid back.

Review: Ipsy Glam Bag August 2014

Hi Ladies!
I can't believe we are more than half way through August! This has been the quickest summer ever! Even though I am sad to see it go, I really enjoy the fall too. Especially the fall clothing and makeup! Today I am going to share with you my thoughts on my August Ipsy bag. For those of you unfamiliar with  Ipsy, it is a monthy beauty subscription service. For $10.00 a month, you get 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty products. To learn more you can check out my previous Ipsy reviews on my Subscription Reviews tab at the top of my blog. This month's theme is Beauty Schooled. The makeup bag this month looks like it could also be used as pencil case.

Here are the items that I received:

My Favorite Bronzers

Hi Ladies,
Since the summer is quickly coming to an end, I wanted to share with you two of my current favorite bronzers. These are my favorite ones to apply to my cheeks and nose etc (not for contouring). They are two very different types of bronzers having different finishes, shades, and prices.

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze 03 $36.00
I actually recieved this as a gift from a co-worker. It came in a little gift bag with other deluxe sized samples of Laura Mercier products. I wasn't expecting much from this bronzer but I actually really love it! It has a matte finish and is better for light/medium skin tones. It may be too darker for fair/light skin shades. This bronzer comes in lighter shades as well. The color blends in beautifully and does not show up too orange on me. It looks very natural giving me a sunkissed look.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is this Rimmel Natural Bronzer. I believe this is the lightest shade in this line. This bronzer is very shimmery which some people might not like. It may show up a little orange on some people but it doesn't really do that on me. I used this earlier in the summer when I was lighter. Like I said, it does have shimmer so I only used a little on my cheeks. It gives a nice glow. I also like to use it on the crease of my eye when I want a more natural, no makeup-makeup look.

Have you tried either of these? What are your favorite bronzers? Post your comments below!

Review: Stitch Fix-Fix #9

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to share with you my thoughts on my 9th Fix from Stitch FixFor those of you unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, it is a personal styling subscription service. You can learn more about Stitch Fix and see my previous fixes on my Subscription Reviews page.  For this fix, I asked my stylist Jenni to send me items to transition me into the fall.

Onto the items that I recieved:
 $38.00
Kimono type tops have been a big fashion trend in both the spring and fall. I was excited to try this on when I saw it in the box. When I tried it on, I was a bit disappointed. I didn't like how big and wide it was on me. It felt like I was wearing a muumuu. Even adding a belt didn't make me want to keep it. These kimonos look totally cute on some people, it's just not for me.

$34.00
 $48.00
Both the top and bottoms in the above picture came from this fix. Lets start with the top. I liked it and though it was cute. I liked the mixed material on it. It was a bit big on the bottom but other than that I liked it.  However, I don't think it was special enough to want to keep.

I was surprised to see jeans in my fix. It was the first pair that I have recieved. I was even more surprised to see a bright green pair in the box. The color was nice and different however, they fit wasn't great on me. I think think that they were meant to stop right above the ankles but they felt too short to me. They were also not the most flattering on my shape. I tend to get jeans that have more elasticity to them so that they are stretchy. If I really loved these, I would have paid $48.00 for them, but I didn't.

 $28.00
I wasn't quite sure about this shirt when I pulled it out. I thought it MIGHT be cute, but a little more pretty than what I normally wear. When I tried it on, I really liked it. Yes, its very casual and I'm sure I could find similar elsewhere however, I liked the fabric. It was stretchy and a very light sweatshirt material. I think this will be a cute shirt for the fall with a pair of jeans and boots. I was also happy with the price of this. I decided to keep this.

 $28.00

I knew right away that I loved this shirt. The style of the shirt and the pattern on it were definitely my style. The colors weren't ones that I would normally pick out for myself but I did like them. This is why I love this subscription service. The shirt fit great and the price was great too. I decided to keep this.

The two shirts that I decided to keep where $28.00 each which brought my total to $56.00. I already paid the $20.00 styling fee so my total came to $36.00. I  feel that Jenni did a great job sending me items I might not normally pick for myself. I really appreciate the effort that she made trying to stay in my budget range. This was the best priced box thus far. I was really happy with the quality of the items vs the prices for each item. I can't wait to get my fix for October!

Review: Makeup by One Direction-Up All Night Kit*

Hi Ladies!
A couple weeks ago I gave you all a sneak peek of One Direction's new makeup line. It was created by Markwins International which is most known for its brands such as Wet n Wild and Physicans Formula. The band's new makeup like is called Make Up by One Direction. I am not too familiar with One Direction but I grew up in the 90's and was a HUGE fan of boy bands. I had posters of N'SYNC and Backstreet Boys plastered all over my bedroom walls. I had tons of memorabilia but the only makeup based products that I remember were scented lip balms. If the boy bands of my generation had cool make up kits like these, I would have been all over it!

To read more about the different limited edition makeup kits by One Direction, you can check out my first post HERE.

I was lucky enough to get to get the opportunity to test out the "Up All Night" kit. Keep reading to see what's inside and get my thoughts on the products.
The front sleeve with the picture of 1D comes off . Underneath is a metal tin with a brick wall graphic on it.

Closet Confidential Tag

Hi Ladies!
Nelly from Life's Showroom asked me if I was interested in doing the fashion related tag called "Closet Confidential".  After checking out her post, I thought it looked like  fun and agreed!

1. What is the oldest item in your closet? American Eagle Jeans and/or my very first Coach purse from 2006-2007

I believe I got both of these while I was working at Macy's while I was in college. Both are in pretty good shape considering they are about 7-8 years old. I keep my Coach purse in one of the protective cleaning bags it comes with. I barley ever wear the jeans as they are worn out and a bit too tight.
