Review: Ipsy Glam Bag August 2014

Hi Ladies!
I can't believe we are more than half way through August! This has been the quickest summer ever! Even though I am sad to see it go, I really enjoy the fall too. Especially the fall clothing and makeup! Today I am going to share with you my thoughts on my August Ipsy bag. For those of you unfamiliar with  Ipsy, it is a monthy beauty subscription service. For $10.00 a month, you get 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty products. To learn more you can check out my previous Ipsy reviews on my Subscription Reviews tab at the top of my blog. This month's theme is Beauty Schooled. The makeup bag this month looks like it could also be used as pencil case.

Here are the items that I received:
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
When I saw this in my Glam Room, I wasn't as excited as other people. I have tried a TON of mascaras and there aren't many that I love. I was hoping to get the UD Liner instead. When I tried this, I was actually surprised. I did end up liking it. I like the formula and brush. It separates my lashes pretty well and adds nice volume. Would I spend $22.00 for a full size? Probably not. But if someone wants to send it to me as a gift, I would be more than willing to accept! This is a deluxe sample and puts the estimated value at $5.50.

Here is a picture of  my lashes with the Perversion mascara.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo
At first, I wasn't sure what this product was. It is in fact a liquid highlighter that you can use on your face and body. The full size products retails for $29.00 for 1 oz. This deluxe sample is .027 oz which puts the value at about $7.75. This is a unique color highlighter. It is a nice pink/rose color. I'm not a huge fan of liquid highlighters so I'm not sure how much I will use this.

J. Cat Beauty Flying Solo Eyeshadow in Half Naked
I was happy to see this eyeshadow in my bag for two reasons. The first reason is I have really liked the J.Cat products that I have tried. The second reason is that it is eyeshadow, duh! This shadow is soft, pigmented, and very blendable. The color will be a nice highlight or lid shade. This is a full size product and retails for $2.99. I would be interested in trying more of these shadows.

Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner
When I saw this, I was like really...a lip balm. I wasn't excited because if I wanted a chapstick, I would go to CVS and get one. I didn't think a beauty subscription box should have this. HOWEVER, I need to keep in mind that this is a BEAUTY box not a MAKEUP BOX. I just thought that Ipsy was mainly focused on makeup. I don't think that is the case anymore. That being said, I actually like this lip balm. It smells like oranges and is super soft and moisturizing. This is a full size product and retails for $5.50.

Cali Cosmetics Evulcano Body Lotion with Sicilian Lemons and Volcanic Minerals
Body lotions don't really excite me but this is a nice smelling one. The lotion contains olive oil extract and tVolcanic Minerals which is interesting.  It has a fresh lemon scent. The full size product retails for $24.00 for 8.5 oz. This deluxe sample is 1 oz and is a $4.00 value. I will probably throw this in my purse

This bag is really cute. It has a plastic feel which isn't the nicest however it is larger than most bags that we get. That means it can fit more lipsticks! I think it could be a nice pencil case for school too!

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this bag. It wasn't my favorite but it also wasn't the worst. There were some nice products in this bag. The total value of this bag is $25.74. It not the best value to date but it still surpasses the $10.00 that I paid.
