May Favorites

Hi Ladies,
May was a super busy month for me so it flew by. It has been pretty nice for the past couple of weeks and I really can't wait to enjoy the weather some more. I definitely failed my no buy this month but oh well. I'll try again soon. Most of my favorites this month are new products but a couple of them I have had for a while.

Review: Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer

Hi Ladies,
Today I am going to do a quick review of the Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer. I purchased this a few months ago but wanted to use up the whole product before giving my opinions on the product. I was very hesitant to purchase this moisturizer because it was $65.00 (FOR 1.7 oz) which is the most expensive moisturizer that I have ever purchased. I heard good things about this brand so I decided to try it out.

Review: Ipsy Glam Bag May 2014

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to share with you my May Ipsy Glam Bag. If you are unfamiliar with Ipsy, it is a monthy beauty subscription service. For $10.00 a month, you get 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty products. To learn more you can check out my previous Ipsy reviews on my Subscription Reviews tab at the top of my blog. The theme of this bag is "Fresh Picks". Initially, I wasn't super excited about this bag because it is mostly skincare/hair care and the reason why I signed up for Ipsy was because their bags were more makeup heavy. Once I started reading each product that I was getting in my Glam Room, I felt that they did a good job picking items for me (comparing what I got to the other items other people could have got this month).

On to my goodies!

Spring Makeup Trend: Navy and Orange

Hi Ladies,
I'm sure you have seen plenty of Spring Trend posts all over the place lately. One trend that I am really loving is the navy liner paired with orange lips. Some of my blogger friends have done posts on these trends already. They have inspired me to go out of my comfort zone and try it too. Please make sure that you check out these girls posts as they were the inspiration behind this post.

Lily from Beauty with Lily-Spring 2014 Makeup Trends

Jackie from Five Two Certified-Spring Lip Trends-Orange Lip

I am going to do a mini review of the 2 featured products before I get into my look.

To create this look, I used the Milani Liquid Eye Eyeliner Pencil in Blue and MAC lipstick in So Chaud. I chose these colors to go for a more bold look.

The Milani Liquid Eye in Blue is a great liner! It is really inexpensive ($5.97 at Walmart) and can be found at most drug stores. It glides on so smooth and the color is very pigmented. This liner lasted me all day and night (7:30am-11:30 pm) and didn't really fade much at all.

Review: Anastasia Dipbrow in Auburn

Hi Ladies,
After all the hype I have seen throughout the blogger world, I finally decided to try out Anastasia's Dip Brow. I previously swatched the colors Chocolate and Auburn. Both looked super dark but I decided to buy Auburn since my hair is dyed a reddish color.
I am really loving this product but I will admit that am having some issues working with it. I LOVE the creaminess of it and how nicely it blends. I also love that it stays all day and is super pigmented. You only need very little product. That seems to be the issue that I am having.

Review: April Wantable Intimates Box

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to share with you my April Wantable Intimates Box. For those of you unfamiliar with Wantable, it is a monthly customizable subscription service for $36.00 a month (or $40.00 for a one time box). They have 3 different types of subscriptions; a makeup box, an accessories box, and an intimates box. You fill out style surveys for each type of box. I have already tried the makeup box. You can check out my review on the Wantable Makeup Box HERE.

I tried out the accessories box and just didn't have any luck with that. They just weren't getting my style and the quiz didn't have enough questions pertaining to style. I returned both boxes that I purchased. I decided to try out the intimates box since this was the last box I haven't tried. Also, I was in need of some pjs.

Here are the items that I recieved:

Review: Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette

Hi Ladies,
Today I am going to review another theBalm product, Meet Matte Nude. This palette includes 9 matte shades that are soft and blend wonderfully. You can definitely create some full eye looks with this palette but I tend to use one or two of these shades along with other palettes. I love the humor that comes along with this palette. Between the "size matters" phrase on the front, to some of the name of these colors, I find this sexual kind of humor funny.

Anyways, on to the palette:
As you can see, these shadows are pretty big. I haven't used all of the colors, but I am really liking the ones that I have used.

Review: Milani Baked Blushes

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to share my Milani Baked Blush collection with you. After reading review after review about how amazing these blushes were, I decided to pick some up. Luckily, CVS was having a BOGO 50% off n Milani products when I purchased them. These blush retail for $8.49 but I got two of them half off. You can get them even cheaper with coupons.
The four colors that I own are Bella Rosa, Luminoso, Delizioso Pink, and Red Vino.

Makeup Purge

Hi Ladies!
Beauty blogger Kate from Kate Spitz has a blog series called Collection Clean Up where she lists products that she hasn't used in a while, and decides what she is keeping and what she is getting rid of. Since I have purchased a bunch of products lately, I decided to purge some of my makeup that I don't like or don't use anymore. Thank you Kate for inspiring me to do this post!

Here are the items that I am getting rid of:
Instead of deciding whether or not I will be keeping some of these products, I am just going to pass them on to family and friends.

Review: The Balm Nude'tude Palette and Hot Mama Blush

Hi Ladies!

After waiting almost a month for my theBalm products, I finally got them! I ordered these products on Hautelook for 50% off (I think). Before I talk about the products, I want to share my experience with ordering with Hautelook.

I was not happy with how long these products took to ship. What made me so mad is the fact that I ordered these on March 7th and was charged for them on March 10th. I didn't get them until mid April. The customer service reps that I spoke with on several occasions could not give me a ship date. They did credit my shipping and gave me a $10.00 credit towards my account.  I did appreciate that since this was not a good first experience with purchasing from Hautelook. After continually being told that my items would ship any day now (and they didn't), I asked to speak to a manager. After being in contact with a manager, my experience was more pleasant. She called me and updated me a couple times which made me feel a little better about the situation. I am a bit nervous about ordering with them again but I may give them one more try since this was a fantastic deal.

On to the products....

Nude'tude Palette

These shadows are mainly shimmers and glitters with a few matte shadows. The colors are neutral/basic colors that range from pink/peach to browns, taupe, burgundy, and black. The shadows are very creamy and pigmented and blend very nicely. You can easily create a full eye look with these colors. You can create very natural looks to very dramatic ones.

My Nightly Skincare Routine/HSN Collaboration

Hi Ladies,
As most of you know, skincare is a very important topic relating to beauty. You can cake on all the makeup that you want to cover blemishes and imperfections, but starting with a good skincare routine would help tremendously. Instead of covering these issues up, you could be taking steps to prevent them.

Jackie from HSN (Home Shopping Network) contacted me and asked if I would be interested in posting a write up from one of HSN's beauty experts, Carly Woods. The article talks about the importance of night time skincare routines and which products you should be using.

Review: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners

Hi Ladies,
I have been doing a lot of Rimmel product reviews lately. This is because I have just started trying them out. I have been very pleased with the stuff that I have tried. In this post, I will discuss Rimmel's Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners. They retail for about $4.49 and can be found at many of your local drugstores. The colors that I own are Taupe (top), Sparking Black (middle), and Nude (bottom).

Here are swatches of each:

(Left: Taupe, Middle: Sparkling Black, Right: Nude)

Here is what is said about this product on the Rimmel Site:
Ingredients
"Long lasting shocking color intensity with kohl Britania High intensity color for an instant color impact Ultra smooth & creamy formula that glides on easily Waterproof, smudge-proof, sweat-proof, heat-proof, humidity-proof and scandal- proof Dermatologist & ophthalmologist tested. Safe for sensitive eyes."

I think that these eyeliners are great. They are really affordable and are a cheaper alternative to the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners. I wouldn't say that they are AS GOOD but they are definitely comparable. The Taupe isn't as dramatic when applying as an eyeliner. I use this for a more natural look. I use the Nude on my waterline everyday. I really love this color the most out of the three that I own. I wouldn't say it it completely waterproof though. It does wear off throughout the day. The Sparkling Black looks more like a navy blue or slate to me. I just used this for the first time the other day. Its definitely really glittery but I liked it. I kept the rest of my lid light and natural since the liner was so dramatic.

Have you used these eyeliners before? What are your favorite drugstore liners? Post your comments below!
