Review: Nyx Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipsticks*

Hey Guys,
Today I am going to share my thoughts on the new Nyx Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipsticks. I was so excited when Nyx reached about sending these new lipsticks out for me to try. For those of you that have followed my blog since the very beginning, you might remember that some of my earlier blog posts were reviews of some of their other lip products. I have been a Nyx customer for many years and some of their products are holy grail status for me like my beloved Micro Brow. I couldn't wait to give these a try! Keep reading to hear my thoughts on these and to see some lip and arm swatches. I also included a link to my lip swatch video!

Nyx Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipsticks $6.99

March Favorites

Hey Guys,
I'm so glad that its April! Even though I hate to see time fly by, I am so looking forward to warmer weather. It was pretty cold in March but it actually felt like spring yesterday. March was a pretty good month for me. I saw Florida Georgia Line in concert at Mohegan Sun (post HERE), I booked a trip to Mexico for July, I bought tickets to FGL/BSB/Nelly at Fenway Park and Justin Bieber at Gilette Stadium for this summer. One of the resolutions that I made for 2017 is that I have decided to spend more of my money on "experiences" that will create life long memories instead of material things. I had a bunch of new favorites this month. Check out my video below to see what I was loving!

Hey Guys,
I'm a little late at posting this but below are my favorite products for October! I'm so excited for the holidays that are right around the corner! I love getting together with family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Its going to be so fun to see my little nephew opening gifts this year since he is going to be 2 and is big enough to kind of understand the whole idea of Santa and all. Check out my video below to hear what I was loving last month!

Review: Ipsy Glam Bag Sept 2015

Hi Guys,
Another month another Ipsy Glam Bag. I'm not really excited anymore for my glam bags but regardless, I still feel the need to review them. For those of you unfamiliar with  Ipsy, it is a monthly beauty subscription service. For $10.00 a month, you get 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty products. To learn more you can check out my previous Ipsy reviews on my Subscription Reviews tab at the top of my blog. The theme for this month was "Face Fashion" keeping in line with New York Fashion week which is in September. I actually liked the bag for once. Its pretty plain and will match with any black or cognac leather bag that I have.

L-R: First three swatches-Nyx/Ipsy trio, City Color City Chic Lipstick, and Temptu Highlighter

Overall, this bag was more exciting before actually trying out the products. I'm pretty sure I am cancelling my subscription after next month. I just subscribed to Sephora Play! and I just find that I never use the products that I get in my glam bags. Hopefully Ipsy starts to feature better brands and products because I feel like the Sephora subscription will be a tough competitor.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? What did you get in your Ipsy bag? Post your comments below.

Review: NYX High Voltage Lipsticks

Hi Guys,
I'm finally getting around to reviewing the new Nyx High Voltage Lipsticks. I picked some up at IMATS while I picked up the rest at Ulta. These lipsticks are SUPER creamy and pigmented. They are super affordable and come in a large variety of colors. I love them more than the Nyx Butter Lipsticks and Glosses. There are few negatives to this lipstick that I must point out. The first is that they aren't super long wearing. I would say they wear off after a few hours and if you eat, you need to reapply for sure. Since they are super creamy, lip liner is a must for the darker colors. They don't look great on chapped/dry lips so make sure you exfoliate ahead of time. Especially for the lighter colors. Lastly, the caps don't stay on very well.

Ulta has BOGO 50% off on Nyx all the time so this is a fantastic deal!

Here are the colors that I currently own:
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks
Here are swatches of the above lipsticks:
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks
L-R: Stone, Flutter Kiss, Tiara, Rags to Riches, Twisted, Wine & Dine, Feline, and Dahlia

Here are some lip swatches of some of these colors:
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks
Wine & Dine
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks
Stone (with a neutral lip liner)
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks
Flutter Kiss
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks
Tiara

Overall, I absolutely LOVE these lipsticks! The colors that I have been wearing the most are Flutter Kiss, Tiara, and Stone. My favorite of the bunch is Flutter Kiss. It is a very wearable color and goes with a bunch of different makeup looks. Tiara is a great peachy/pink for the summer time. Nyx definitely did a great job with these lippies!

Have you tried the new Nyx High Voltage Lipsticks? What is your favorite color from above? Post your comments below!

Review: Nyx Wonder Stick

Hey Guys,
As you know, contouring has become ever so popular in the beauty industry. Beauty lovers have learned that you don't have to be a makeup artist to learn how to contour. Nyx came out with the Wonder Stick which is a super easy multi tasking product that has a highlight color on one end and a contour color on the other. I have wanted to try these out for so long and finally picked them up!

Review: Nyx Wonder Stick
The Wonder Sticks come in 4 shades; light, medium, deep, and universal. I picked up two shades; Universal and Light.
Review: Nyx Wonder Stick
Universal is supposed to work with all skin tones. It has a shimmery highlight shade on one end and a more warm toned contour shade.

Here are swatches of the Universal shades:
Nyx Wonder Stick

Review: Nyx Wonder Stick
Light has a non shimmery highlight side and more of a taupey brown contour shade.

Here are swatches of the Light Shades:
Nyx Wonder Stick

These products are super easy to use! I prefer the non-shimmery highlight shade but I am glad that I have both options. The lighter contour shade will work best for me now but more red toned shade may work better when I have a tan. These Wonder Sticks are super pigmented and creamy. They are super easy to use and blend out. I am so glad that I picked these up.

Have you tried any contour/highlight sticks? Post your comments below!

IMATS New York: The Experience

Hey Guys,
As most of you know,  I recently took a trip to New York to attend IMATS NY! It was my very first IMATS show and I was really happy that I got to experience it with one of my good friends and fellow makeup addicts El (The Beauty Isle). In this post, I will talk about my experience at IMATS and share the pictures that I took at the show. Just a warning...this is a VERY picture heavy post. I will do a separate post/video on my IMATS haul. If you are interested in hearing about IMATS keep reading!
On Friday night we met up with Jackie from Five Two Beauty! We had a nice dinner with her at an Italian restaurant and then hung out for drinks after. It was so awesome to meet someone that I have been blogging buddies with for so long. Jackie is such a sweetheart and we had a great time chatting with her.

Hi Ladies!
I'm back with another edition of Makeup Purge! I did this purge right before the holidays since I hadn't done one for quite some time. I asked for a bunch of makeup for Christmas and knew that I had to make room for it :)

Beauty Empties

HI Ladies!
It's been quite a while since I did my last empties post. It takes me quite a while to save up enough to post about. The empties in this post have been saved over about a 4-5 month period.

Let's get right into them!

Batiste Dry Shampoo: I use Batiste every other day and go through a bottle in about 2-3 months. This is the best dry shampoo that I have tried so far. It does leave a powdery residue on your hair if sprayed too close but it can easily patted out. This dry shampoo does a great job at soaking up oils in my hair.
Would I repurchase? Yes, I already have.

Redken Forceful 23 Hairspray: This is the only hairspray that I use. Even though it is a little pricey, it is so worth it. It keeps my curls in place without making them look crunchy or wet. It keeps my hair looking natural as if I had no product in it.
Would I repurchase? Yes, I already have.

Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner: I began using this when I started to color my hair. Its supposed to help your hair color last longer. I have never really been a fan of how it makes my hair feel after using it. It just doesn't feel clean. I would say it probably does help keep the color in but I just really don't like it. I also think its expensive.
Would I repurchase? Probably not. I have recently purchased the L'Oreal Everpure Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner which is for color-treated hair and sulfate free. Thanks to Kate from Kate Spitz Blog for introducing me to this.

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Shampoo and Conditioner: I got these in an Influenster Vox Box. You can read my review of them HERE. I really liked this shampoo and conditioner for the summer time when I wore my hair scrunched or curly. It smells great and adds natural waves to my hair.
Would I repurchase? Yes, but only in the summer.
M.A.C. Brush Cleaner: This bottle took me quite a while to use up. I mix it with water and shampoo to clean my brushes.
Would I repurchase? Probably not, I would just buy a cheaper brush cleaner.

NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in Yellow: I reviewed this concealer HERE. I think it is a pretty good concealer especially considering the price.
Would I repurchase? Not the yellow shade but I have repurchase the Beige shade.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara: I love this mascara. It gives me great volume and drama and you can't beat the price.
Would I repurchase? Yes, I already have.
e.l.f. Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths: I love this wipes. They are so inexpensive and work really good. They are also pretty big. I have purchasing these for years. Would I repurchase? Yes, I do every couple months.

CVS Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Moisturizer: Cocoa Butter is the only moisturizer that I use for my body. I go back and fourth between the CVS brand and Vaseline brand Cocoa Butter. They both do a great job at keeping my skin soft and moisturized.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Clarins Water Purify One Step Cleanser with Mint Essential Water: I use this cleanser every morning. I have been using it since 2006 and love it. Its a bit expensive but worth it for me.
Would I repurchase? Yes, I already have.

Montagne Jeunesse Pure Oils Sleep Spa Mask: This is a paper mask that you use before bed. Once you take off the mask you let the product soak into your skin. You don't wash it off. I think paper masks are hard to keep on. This one specifically burned my eyes so bad. I don't know if I touched my eye after putting on the mask or if it was just from the mask being close to my eyes.
Would I repurchase? No.

Lush Mask of Magnaminty: I really loved this mask! You can read my review HERE. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Philosophy Take a Deep Breath Gel Cream Moisturizer: This is my current moisturizer. I just reviewed it not too long ago. You can read my review HERE
Would I repurchase? Yes, I already have.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant: I got this sample in my Ipsy bag. You can read my review HERE. I really liked it and thought that it worked well. My felt super clean after using it. However, it is super expensive. I know there are much cheaper exfoliants out there that are less money.
Would I repurchase? No.

I hope that you enjoyed my long empties post!

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? Post your comments below!

-Tanya xoxo
