Essence Cosmetics 2014 Spring/Summer Collection*

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to share with you some products from the Essence Cosmetics 2014 Summer/Spring Collection. I know that many of you are familiar with Essence Cosmetics and their super affordable yet trendy makeup line. What many of you don't know is that Essence Cosmetics is a Germany cosmetics company, does NOT test on animals, and is Europe's #1 cosmetics brand!
Because I absolutely love the fact that they are cruelty free, I want to share more info regarding this taken from the "Philosophy" page of their website:

"essence says NO to testing on animals--essence does not conduct any testing on animals, nor commissions it to any third parties – not in germany or anywhere else in the world. we strongly disapprove of testing on animals.

this is also one of the factors we consider when selecting suppliers to work with essence and they must assure us that their products are produced without testing on animals.
by the way: animal testing for decorative or pampering cosmetic products has not been permitted in germany since the autumn of 1998. germany leads the way in europe with this legislation!"
Swatches L-R: Frosted Apple-rose pink, Coffee To Glow-taupe, Golden Up-champagne, N'ice Frosting-silvery/white
These eyeshadows look way more glittery than they actually are. I am not a fan of heavy glitter so I wasn't sure if I was going to like these. Once you get past the first layer of glitter, the shadows are more of a heavy shimmer. The shadow is soft and nicely pigmented. I got a better application on my lids when applying the product with my finger rather than with a brush. My favorite color from this bunch is Coffee to Glow. I was really impressed when wearing these all day. I didn't notice any significant creasing or fading. The colors looked just as nice when I got home from work as when they were first applied in the  morning.

L-R: Almost Famous-candy apple red, All About Cupcake-pink, Sparkling Romance-champagne, Cutie Mac Cutie-frosted light pink, Look at Me-purpley/brown
These lipsticks are on the sheer side but can build up to more color.  They all have a shimmer to them. The shimmer is less obvious in the red and pink lipstick (first two swatches above).  These are also the two most pigmented lipsticks of the bunch. The shimmer gives more of a frosted look with the other three shades (last three swatches above). The lipsticks smell fantastic and have a buttery smooth texture. I would consider them similar to lip butters. They are super moisturizing which surprised me. I have a cold and my lips are kind of chapped. When I applied these lipsticks they actually moisturized my chapped lips and did not emphasize the dry skin. My favorite color is Almost Famous. The wear time is about 2-3 hours.

These weren't as pigmented as I thought they were going to be. I would suggest using these over a black eyeliner to have the glitter show up better. You can also use these on your lashes.

Here are swatches of each color individually
Here is a swatch of  all of the colors blended together
This bronzing/highlighter is super soft and creamy. I love the pinkish color that is created when mixing all the colors together. This would make a unique highlight color. You can also use these colors individually as shadows. The darker colors are more pigmented than the lighter ones.

Here are pictures of me wearing the Metal Glam Eyeshadow  in Coffee to Glow on my lids and lipstick in Almost Famous.

Here is a look that I created some of these products:

Products used:
Eyes: Metal Glam Eyeshadows
Lid-Golden Up
Crease-Coffee to Glow
Lower Lashline-Frosted Apple
Inner Corners-N'ice Frosting

Lips: Essence Lipstick in All About Cupcake
Cheeks, nose forehead:
Sun Club All in One Bronzing Highlighter in Sun Light

Overall, I was really impressed with this line. The products are great quality and super affordable. The line is colorful, fun, and trendy. I love that they are cruelty free and can be found at my local Ulta.

* I was sent these products  for review purposes. However, the thoughts and opinions in this post are my own. I am always 100% honest in my reviews for all products discussed on my blog.
