Review: Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

Hi Ladies,
Today I am going to share with you my thoughts on Rimmel's Stay Matte Foundation. The color that I purchased was Soft Beige. You can get it at many of your local drugstores for $5.00 or less. I am not a HUGE fan of liquid foundations but have been trying them out just so that I have another option besides my bareMinerals foundation. I wanted to try another matte foundation since I didn't have luck with Nyx's Stay Matte But Not Flat Liquid Foundation. I have read good things about this product and my blogger friend Chelsea from Tiger Love Beauty highly recommended it.

Here is what is said of the product on the Rimmel site:
"A feather light, oil free formula with an airy mousse texture that won’t feel heavy or greasy. Delivers all day shine control and blends flawlessly for a natural looking matte finish. Minimizes the appearance of pores. The weight is over – finally, shine has met its matte."

In my opinion, the foundation is a medium to full coverage. It is thick, but light at the same time. It does not feel heavy on your face. You could definitely make your makeup look cakey if you layer too much of this stuff. I first apply it with a foundation brush, then buff it out to different areas of my face with a stippling brush. I don't find it to be patchy at all but do have spots on my nose that look dryer than the rest of my face. This happens with my regular foundation too.

Below is what the foundation looks like. It wasn't a perfect color match for me but its hard to pick a foundation when you can't test it out first. Its a little darker than my skin but it works for me.
Below I am wearing the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation with Nyx's Stay Matte But Not Flat powder lightly dusted over it.
I really liked this foundation and do recommend it. This is a little but more coverage than I usually wear. I may switch off between my regular foundation and this one. I haven't really decided yet. It does a better job at controlling my oil than my bareMinerals foundation but I also use a powder over it. I haven't tried it alone. I think Rimmel did a great job with this foundation.

Have you tried the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation? What do you think of it? Post your comments below!
