Review: Ipsy Glam Bag Plus July 2020

Today I'm going to share my thoughts on my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus for July! For those of you unfamiliar with Ipsy Glam Bag, it is a monthly beauty subscription box. You receive 5 deluxe/sample sized products each month. The subscription is $12.00 a month and usually has a theme. They also offer an upgraded box every month called Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. This box is $25.00 a month and includes 5 FULL SIZED products. They also offer another box called Ipsy Ultimate which I believe was created to compete with BoxyLuxe. This box is $50.00 a month and includes 8 FULL SIZED products and 4 deluxe/sample sized products. I am currently only subscribed to Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. All subscriptions come with a makeup bag (different sizes per subscription type) and you are able to pick one product in your box (GBP & GBU). With Glam Bag you are able to pick two. You are also able to skip a month whenever you feel like which is a huge bonus offering. I was pumped to see Tarte featured again in this month's bag. Keep reading to see what I got in my box!

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus July 2020 "Take A Break"

Ofra Cosmetics x Nikkie Tutorials Glazed Donut Highlighter $35.00

I love that Ipsy really pays attention to our reviews and quizzes. Ofra Highlighters are some of the best on the market so I was happy to see this one included in my box. The shade is too light or me right now but will work well for me in the winter.

Tarte Sea Surfer Curl Volumizing Mascara $23.00

I chose this as my choice item for July. Tarte is one of my favorite beauty brands and I haven't tried this mascara. I currently have a bunch of mascaras already open so I will wait until I use a few up before trying this one out.

Yensa Super 8 Lip Oil in Pink Shine $28.00

I am a fan of the Yensa brand but haven't tried too many lip oils. I prefer lipsticks and glosses but I was happy to try this out. I don't love it but it does feel nice on the lips.

Ciate London Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer $28.00

I was so excited that Ipsy included this in my bag. I had a hard time choosing between this and the mascara. I have been so impressed with Ciate products and this one does not disappoint! It smells great and is definitely hydrating. I have been reaching for it non stop. It gives a nice healthy glow without being shiny or oily.

Ittse The Fulton Magnetic Eyeshadow Quad $24.00

I have heard of this brand but never tried their products. These colors are underwhelming to me. I am a huge fan of neutral colors but these were just okay. They weren't super pigmented but weren't awful either. I was happy that Ipsy sent me shadows though since I am always open to trying new brands and formulas.

Usually I don't get excited about the bags included and don't really use them. However, this is a plastic feeling and is great for throwing credit cards, your phone, chap stick etc in your beach bag for the beach. If it gets wet or sandy you can easily wipe it off and clean it.

Add on- Ciate London Watermelon Burst Hydrating Lip Oil

I decided to add this on as I have been obsessed with watermelon scented things lately. This was $2 or $3 as part of the add ons. It is not as hydrating as the Yensa Lip Oil and is a thicker consistency but smells really good.

IPSY PROMOTIONS
Ipsy offers discounts and cash back on brands/products featured in each month's glam bag. You are able to purchase full sized products that are sampled/or featured in the Glam Bag that month. The products are discounted from normal price and you can get cash bag on the purchase. They also offer "Ipsy Offers"that are discounted beauty bundles from different brands. Lastly, you are allowed to add "Add Ons" to your Glam Bag Plus which are other items featured that month that are not part of your personal box. These items are heavily discounted. Lastly, they offer "Mystery Bags".

Overall, this wasn't my favorite bag but I really appreciate the fact that 4 of the 5 items in my bag are higher end well known beauty brands. It's rare to get that many well known brands in any beauty subscription. I also appreciate that they are sending me stuff that I am actually asking for in my quizzes and reviews. They announced some pretty exciting news recently which I am super pumped about. Starting in August, All Ipsy Glam Bag Plus members are able to pick 3 ITEMS in their bag! Ipsy curates the other 2 based off your beauty quizzes and reviews. How cool is that?!
