Skin Care Favs

Skin care is very important if you want to have nice skin and help it age gracefully. While there are many factors that affect your skin such as genetics, habits, and the environment, taking care of it may counteract many of these things. Washing your face at least twice a day is a must.  Also, it is very important to take off all of your makeup before bed. Sleeping in your makeup on is a BIG no no. Keeping your face moisturized is also important.  I recommend doing this twice a day as well. While there are many great brands out there, expensive and inexpensive, I have come up with a list that I swear by.

Here are the skin care products that I love and use daily:

I worked at Estee Lauder for a year back in college and found out about this awesome moisturizer. It helps prevent and fight the signs of aging. Its oil free so it works for all skin type and is packed with vitamins and anti oxidants. The moisturizer has cucumber extract in it so it has a clean, refreshing smell. I have tried a handful of other moisturizers and always end up back with this one.

Stitch Fix # 3

Hi Girls,
For those of you that didn't read my first post about Stitch Fix, you can click here to read more about what the company offers and see my first two fixes. To sum up my previous post, Stitch Fix is an online personal styling site/company. You fill out a detailed profile about your style, size, etc  then schedule "fixes" where they send you 5 items based on your profile and requests. There is a $20.00 styling fee but if you purchase even one thing, that fee gets subtracted from the cost of the item. Buy all five items and you get 25% off your entire fix.

Here is what I got in my most recent fix.

Makeup Tutorial: The Natural Eye

Here is a natural look that is quick and easy. I usually spend a little bit less time on my eyes during the work week. To achieve this look you would use matte neutral shades. Start off with an off white or pale tan on the whole eye from lash line to brow. Next you would sweep a taupe or light brown on the lid and a little bit on the crease. Lastly, line your upper lash line with black or dark brown liner and smudge it for a natural look. You could also use a deep brown shadow to line your upper lash line then smudge it. Finish off with a few coats of mascara. In this photo she is also adding single false lashes to the outer corners of or eyes but this is obviously optional and not necessary.

Easy Recipes: Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes

From time to time I will post recipes that I found on Pinterest and sites that I have tried out and were a success. I don't like super complicated recipes or ones with tons of ingredients. Most are quick and easy. As  you can see in the name of my blog site, I LOVE cheesecake! It is my favorite dessert. Here is a recipe for Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes. This recipe was fairly easy but a little messy. Mixing the cheesecake with the other ingredients was the hardest part. They turned out awesome though and were very delicious.

E.L.F. Cosmetics-Super Affordable Makeup

I'm sure many of you have heard of e.l.f. Cosmetics before but if you haven't  e.l.f. stands for eyes, lips, face. This cosmetics line can be found on their website eyeslipsface.com as well as at Target. While I don't consider the line high end, it is very affordable and worth checking out. There are some eye shadows that are very pigmented but there are also some shadows that aren't so good. The items are so inexpensive (most items between $1.00-$5.00 each) that buying a handful of stuff just to try out wouldn't hurt your pocket.

They constantly have special offers so make sure you sign up for their emails. A recent offer was spend $25.00 (which can get you A LOT of things) and get a free gift with offer code "xxx". The free gifts often come with a variety of their products such as liners, mascaras, primers, shadows. It is a good way to try out a bunch of their products. They also have a new subscription offer where you pay a certain price and get a bunch of items shipped to you monthly, every couple of months, twice a year, etc. I have not tried it but they are definitely following the trend of subscriptions.
