Review: Lush Cup O' Coffee & Catastrophe Cosmetic Masks and Tea Tree Water Toner

Hey Guys,
Today I am going to share my thoughts on some Lush products that I picked up a few months ago. For those of you unfamiliar with Lush, it is an skincare, hair, and body care company that sells hand made products made with fresh ingredients. They are cruelty free and are 100% vegetarian. They believe in ethical buying, eco friendly products, and give back to charities often. Also, they have a recycling program where you bring back 5 empty, clean black LUSH pots to your local shop for recycling and they will give you a Fresh Face Mask for free. Keep reading to hear about the products that I got!

Here is what is said about this product on the Lush website:
"Blueberry-packed maintenance mask
Prevent disasters by taking regular care of your skin with our deep-cleansing, nutrient-rich blueberry mask. The little blue bulbs are packed with vitamins, and blended into calamine, rose absolute and chamomile blue oil to soothe redness, irritation and cleanse the skin without stripping it of its natural oils. This one is wonderfully soothing on sensitive skin. Treat your face to Catastrophe Cosmetic as often as you can to keep your skin looking its best."

On to my thoughts:
I liked the fact that this mask was made with blueberries but I wish it had more of a blueberry scent. Given the fact these are fresh and natural ingredients, I get why they don't want to add artificial scents to the mask.  I think that I am developing rosacea so my face has been red and blotchy at times.  I was looking for a mask that had calming/soothing properties for the skin . This mask meets those needs and did make my skin feel nice. The mask was thick but seems to smooth out easily when I added a little bit of water to it. There were some things I didn't love about this mask. I found that this mask dries really fast on your face and flakes and falls off when it dries. That makes quite a mess. Since this is one of their REALLY fresh masks, it also has to be refrigerated and only lasts about a month. Because I use so many different masks, I found that these type of masks aren't great for me. This mask dried up quickly. Even though I managed to use all of it, I won't repurchase since it is pretty expensive given its shelf life.

Here is what is said about this product on the Lush website:
"Wakes up tired complexions
If you're a sucker for the strong, dark, stimulating type, this coffee-filled mask is just the thing to kick-start your day. Wake up and invigorate the skin and mind with the rich, intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sweet roasted cocoa extract. Kaolin deeply cleanses impurities from the pores and ground coffee acts as a gentle scrub to buff away dryness and reveal the glowing skin beneath. Smooth this one all over your body to feel soft, clean and wonderfully fragrant."

On to my thoughts:
I do like this mask. I like the strong coffee smell and the gritty ground coffee in it. This allows for a nice exfoliation. It is a bit sticky due to the fact that it contains honey. Other than that I really have no complaints about it. The mask doesn't fully dry but leaves your skin feeling soft and clean after. I believe this mask is good for about 3 months.

Tea Tree Water Toner 3.3 oz $10.95

Here is what is said about this product on the Lush website:
"Keep skin clear and balanced
Oily, dull or tired skin brightens up with a routine spritz of Tea Tree Water. Cleansing tea tree, juniper berry and grapefruit waters keep skin looking fresh and balance skin tone. Light and refreshing Tea Tree Water reduces redness and clears excess oil without drying so you can put your best face forward."

Fresh ingredients

Tea Tree Water (Melaleuca alternifolia) Grapefruit Water (Citrus Paradisi) Juniperberry Water (Juniperus communis) *Limonene Fragrance Methylparaben .*Occurs naturally in essential oils

On to my thoughts:
Unfortunately I can't say much about this toner. I didn't love the spray bottle application. It kind of dispersed too lightly and got in my hair. I didn't even try to use it by pouring the toner onto a cotton pad. I tried this for about a week and couldn't stand the scent so I stopped using it.

Here is what is said about this product on the Lush site:
"Coconut cream and sea salt scrub
Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt, dead skin and blockages for a bright, fresh face. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, leaving it balanced and soft. The cleansing effects of lime and vodka are ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes and leave skin visibly brightened. It's no wonder Ocean Salt is so enormously popular!"

On to my thoughts:
This was a sample that I requested when I purchased the rest of the products. I actually really liked this body scrub. I liked the scent and thought it had a good amount of grit and texture to the scrub. I don't think I would purchase because I have purchased many other body scrubs for much less money.

Overall, I wasn't completely disappointed in the products that I tried from Lush. The Tea Tree Toner was a fail for me. However, I did like the masks. Of all the products that I tried, I would repurchase the Cup O' Coffee Mask. My favorite mask from Lush is the Mask of Magnaminty (Review HERE). I just got another one of these from my friend for my birthday. I wouldn't mind trying more products from Lush. Probably just another mask or body product. I won't use their bath bombs because I don't take baths. Next time, I would probably just pick up one face product at at time.
