Review: Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette

Hey Guys,
Today I'm finally going to share my thoughts on the Tarte Tarteist Pro Palette that I picked up at Gen Beauty NYC. Several people asked me to review this product. As you guys  know, I'm a huge fan of Tarte products in general. When this palette first came out I didn't feel the urge to buy it. However, after seeing it in person at Gen Beauty I decided to pick it up. Tarte was offering their products at a discount priced and I thought it was a great deal. I have filmed two tutorials using this palette. You can check out the first one HERE. Stay tuned for the second one in the next couple weeks. Keep reading to hear my thoughts on this palette and to see some swatches!

Indie (greige), Bold (light brown), Edgy (chocolate), Punk (black), & Trendy (prismatic teal)

These swatches honestly don't do this palette justice. Especially the iridescent luster shades. They are so gorgeous both on the eyes and swatched on the hand. The coloring is off on those two. The shade Minx is a metallic looking mauve-purple. Trendy is more of a metallic teal in person. Both of these look like a boring brown in the swatches and they are just so different in real life. The pictures don't capture their beauty. I highly suggest going to swatch this palette in person.

On to my thoughts:
When it comes to packaging, this palette is a bit bulky but at the same time its heavy duty. The packaging definitely is great quality and shows that it is high end.I find it very luxurious looking. The black is similar to the Nars packaging and does attract finger prints but it can be cleaned easily. The mirror on the inside is huge. This would be very handy for traveling since many hotel rooms don't have vanity mirrors. It was a bit awkward to film a tutorial because of how big the mirror is. But I still think the size is great and most people will not have any issues with it.

When speaking on the quality of the matte shadows, they are very true to other Tarte palettes. The shadows are super soft and very pigmented. Because of how soft and powdery they are, there is a lot of fall out in the pan and a bit when applying to your eyes. This really doesn't bother me since the quality is great and I do my foundation after my eyes. If doing your eyeshadow after your face, you just need to lightly dust any fall out away or use shadow shields. The shadows blend beautifully and last all day. The iridescent luster shades are quite different from any other Tarte shadows I have used. They are extremely pigmented and very intense. While they apply nice with a brush, they have the best color pay off with your finger. All four colors are beautiful. I think they work best as lid shades.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this palette and highly recommend it. My favorite colors from the palette are Innocent, Whimsy, Ethereal, and Trendy. This palette definitely takes me out of my comfort zone and allows me experiment a little. I've been very pleased with all the looks that I have created.
