The Resolute Beauty Blogger Jan 2014

Hi Ladies!  Beauty Bloggers Shalunya from Shalunya and Boyet and El from Glossy Glam Blog teamed up to create The Resolute Beauty Blogger. They wanted to do this to not only stay on track with their Beauty Blog Resolutions for 2014 but also to give other beauty bloggers the chance to join in on the action.

On the 8th of each month they will give updates on how they are doing with their resolutions and also post a question to keep us on track with our resolutions.

The other beauty bloggers that would like to join would (on the 15th of each month) first post their resolutions and then respond to the question that the ladies post that month.

Ok, so to get started...

My Beauty/Fashion Blogger Resolutions:

Create more YouTube videos-I have created a YouTube channel and have made 3 videos but plan to do some makeup tutorials and maybe Haul videos. I do enjoy writing and am not a very "bubbly" person so some may find me boring but would like a decent amount of videos to add to my credentials.

Gain a larger following- I have found this to be the  most challenging part of blogging. To me, it is VERY HARD to get a following. My numbers have not grown nearly as much as I would hoped that they would over the past 3 1/2 months. I am going to try to use more social media and find out other ways to help gain a bigger following. I only have like 6 followers on BlogLovin' so I need to figure out how people get such a large following on there. I would be super happy if i could gain 100 followers on BlogLovin' by the end of the year.

Continue to collaborate with other beauty bloggers-I really really enjoyed doing the Beauty Crown Awards and would like to collaborate more with other bloggers which is why I decided to do this. I really enjoyed talking to other women that have similar interests as me and its really great meeting new friends across the country!

Learn more about the beauty blogger world- I would consider myself a newbie when it comes to the blogging world so there is a lot that I don't know. I just recently learned about button swaps and what a button actually is. Also, I have learned about tags and companies like Klout and Influenster. I know there is much more to learn and I can't wait!

Participate in a No Buy and Tags- I thought that the concept of No Buys is great and helps you appreciate what you already have. I would love to do this. Also, once again doing tags to collaborate with other bloggers.

Try to do more fashion related posts- My blog originally started off as a fashion and beauty blog but recently I have been doing a TON of beauty posts because of the Beauty Crown Awards and all the makeup that I received for Christmas. I want to stay true being both a beauty AND fashion related site so I would like to do at least 1/4 of my posts fashion related.

Try to use Instagram and Twitter more often- I just started using Instagram and Twitter and would like to gain followers through these platforms as well. When I create posts I will pull a picture from my post and link it to my Instagram/Twitter to help gain followers. I will also interact with people this way.

Try out more drugstore brand products- Before joining the beauty blogger world I was a makeup snob and never used drugstore brand makeup. The main reason for this is because you can not swatch or try out the products before purchasing. After doing the Beauty Crown Awards and reading other ladies blogs I have found that there are some really great products out there.

My Personal Resolutions:

Be more positive- I am not the most positive person which I hate to admit but I would like to change that going forward into 2014. I tend to think the worst of situations and always jump to conclusions. I am going to make an honest effort to look at things from a positive perspective and be a happier person. Staring this blog has really helped me in this subject. I have things that I really don't like in my life but being able to do this helps a lot.

Eat healthier- I wouldn't consider myself a horrible eater but I tend to snack a lot and on the wrong things. When I go food shopping its usually after work when I am hungry for dinner and I ALWAYS end up putting a bunch of chips and other things in my cart. Planning out my meals ahead of time may help. I used to do this but got lazy because it takes a lot of work. I am going to try to go back to doing this.

Appreciate what I have- Back to the staying positive goal, I have many things in my life that are great and I should be super lucky for. I have a loving husband, a super adoring fur baby, a steady job, a nice home, and great family and friends that care about me. Not everyone has some of these things and I need to realize that and be thankful for what I have and not think about the things that I don't have.

Some of my answers seem kind of negative but I just want to be honest about my goals. I'm not this super nasty, grouchy, unappreciative girl, I just sometimes need to take a step back and be thankful for the good things in my life.

This first month's question is:

Why is being successful with your resolutions important to you?  Being successful with my resolutions would be important to me because I am the type of person that doesn't like to fail. I put a lot of pressure on myself and failing just isn't an option. I may not be able to succeed at everything but I will be very happy if I can gain a larger following, continue my current relationships as well as create new ones, and be a more positive person.

What would being successful with your resolutions mean to you? For my blog, reaching these goals would make me a better and more well rounded blogger. For my personal goals, I think it would just make me a happier person in general.

Per Shalunya: "If you would like to participate in The Resolute Beauty Blogger, on January 15th simply post your resolutions, post your answers to our questions on your blog and leave the link to your post in the link tool below. Each month we will all revisit our resolutions to see how we are progressing and ask questions intended to help you stay focused on your resolutions and goals. Even if you aren't joining The Resolute Beauty Blogger, I'd love to know what you are doing to keep your beauty blog on track during 2014."

Thanks for taking the time to read my resolutions! Until next month....

xoxo Tanya
