Review: ColourPop NKLA x Laura Lee Los Angeles Collection

Hey Guys,
Today I'm going to share ColourPop's new Laura Lee x NKLA collection! This is the 3rd year that ColourPop has come out with a limited edition item in collab with No Kill LA & Best Friends Animal Society. 100% of the net proceeds are donated to this effort to stop euthanasia in animal shelters. You can see my review of their first shadow for this cause called Puppy Love HERE. Last year they came out with a shadow called Cat Nip. Both shadows as well as this collection are available right now on ColourPop's site! Each year I purchase for this cause since it is so near and dear to my heart. As soon as I found out they were doing it again this year, I knew I was going to get it regardless of what it looked like. I had mixed feelings about this collection. Keep reading to hear my thoughts, see swatches, and see a look that I created.

All of the items in the collection can be purchased on their own or as a bundle. I purchased both the lip bundle and the shadow quad bundle. The super shock shadows are $5.00 each and the lip products are $6.00 each.

Right away, I fell in love with the packaging and color scheme. Its's so beautiful. I love the metallic rose gold detail.

This quad is very rose/pink themed. I love how the colors look in the pan. They actually look quite different on my lids though.

Hiney

Icy pink with multi-dimensional glitter

To me, this looks kind of rose gold in the pan. Once you swatch it or use it on your eyes you find out that is is more of a shadow topper than a super pigmented shadow. This kind of disappointed me. I am not huge on super glittery shadows but when it's mixed with a very metallic or pigmented color I sometimes feel differently. This was a very sheer color with a bunch of pink glitter. I didn't really like this shade on my lids.

Shiny

Matte Soft rust

This looked like a warm brownish red to me. It looks more pinkish brown on the eyes. In the look below I used it in my crease. I prefer using it all over the lid with Ritz on top.

Ritz

Sheer nude with silver glitter

This shadow had so much potential but falls short for me. Like Hiney, it is very sheer and mainly glitter which I don't like. Because it's so glittery I don't think it works well on the inner corners. I preferred this more on the lid over another shadow (Shiny).

Glitz

Matte warm rose

I love how this looks in the pan and swatched on my arm but it showed up really pink on my eye which I didn't like. I made the look work but it was a bit disappointing.

Bam

Ultra Satin Lip-Red berry
ColourPop NKLA x Laura Lee Los Angeles Collection
This looks like a much darker red in person. I love Ultra Satin Lips so this is my favorite formula of the three in this collection. This is SUPER pigmented. Because it's so dark and bold, it requires a lot of maintenance. I ate breakfast and had tea and water and not much came off. However, when I ate a Thanksgiving turkey sandwich for lunch, the lip color transferred onto my chin lol This happens to me sometimes depending on what I am eating. It left a red stain on my chin which isn't cute. I still love the color. I just need to eat more delicate food when wearing it and make sure I have a concealer on me at all times!

Wham

Ultra Glossy Lip-Champagne nude metallic with silver glitter
ColourPop NKLA x Laura Lee Los Angeles Collection
I'm normally not a huge fan of lip glosses but I really like this! Its very low maintenance and I'm sure it would look great over a matte liquid lipstick as a topper. I will have to try that combo and see how it looks!

Glam
ColourPop NKLA x Laura Lee Los Angeles Collection
Ultra Metallic Lip-True rose gold
This color is absolutely gorgeous. I also really like the Ultra Metallic Lip formula. Its super pigmented and not drying at all. It's super comfortable on the lips too. This shade is VERY bold and METALLIC so be prepared to stand out in a crowd when wearing this.

Here is a look that I created using this collection:

Eyes: Super Shock Shadows
Lid: Hiney
Lid & Crease: Glitz
Transition: Shiny
Lower Lash Line: Glitz & Shiny
Inner Corner: Ritz
Lips: Ultra Satin Lip in Glam

Overall, as I have said, I have mixed feelings about this collection. The shadows are kind of a miss for me but that doesn't mean that someone else wouldn't love them. I just prefer more pigmented shadows than sheer glittery ones. The lip products were definitely a hit for me and I think all three products are great. Regardless of my thoughts on the shadows, I think this is a really beautiful collection for an amazing cause and don't regret purchasing it.

What are your thoughts on this collection? Which product is your favorite? Post your comments below?
