Ipsy Glam Bag September 2014

Hi Ladies!
I can't believe I'm already reviewing September's Ipsy bag!  For those of you unfamiliar with  Ipsy, it is a monthly beauty subscription service. For $10.00 a month, you get 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty products. To learn more you can check out my previous Ipsy reviews on my Subscription Reviews tab at the top of my blog. The theme for this month's bag is "Street Style". For the first time in more than six months, I was super excited about the items in my Glam Room! I was so happy with the items chosen for me before I even saw the colors that I was getting.

Let's check out what I got!

Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush
I was super excited to see a makeup brush in my bag this month. For my very first Ipsy bag, I got a Mirabella Blending Brush. I use this brush EVERYDAY. I haven't got a brush since then (almost a year) so I am looking forward to trying out this brush. I have heard of Crown Brush before but don't own any of their brushes. This brush seems like it is good quality. The bristles are soft and I like that it has two different brushes in one. This is a full size product and retails for $6.99.

Alterna Hair Care Caviar CC Cream 10 in 1 Complete Correction
At first, I wasn't quite sure what this was. CC Cream for your hair? Is it a hair mask? After reading about the product, I found out that this is a leave in product that helps restore shine, softness, moisture, strength, and has many other benefits. This is a deluxe sample. The full size product is 2.5 oz and costs $25.00. This sample is .85 oz which puts the cost around $8.50.

Cailyn Art Touch Tinted Lip Gloss in Basic Instinct
I was happy to see this in my Glam Room as well. I wasn't sure which of the two colors I was going to get. Once I swatched this gloss, I was happy they chose this color for me. Basic Instinct is a nude/peachy-pink. It looks more pink in the swatch above but it pulls a little peach on my lips. This color reminds me of the Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm that I got in one of the Ipsy bags this winter. The formula of this product is far better in my opinion. It is SUPER CREAMY and very pigmented. I'm not sure why they call it a tinted lip gloss. It is moisturizing and stays glossy for hours. It isn't sticky at all. It has a flat applicator which is interesting. I don't think I have any other lip glosses with that type of tip. This is a full size product and retails for $19.00. I was really impressed with this lip
gloss.

Nyx Hot Singles Eye Shadow in Rehab
I was psyched to see that I was getting a Nyx eyeshadow. I have never tried their singles before and have wanted to for a while. The color Rehab is gorgeous! It is a smokey olive that seems to change color when the light hits it a certain way. It reminds me of MAC's blue brown but with green instead of blue. I am so impressed with how pigmented this shadow is compared the the Nyx palettes that I have tried. The color applied nice and rich. I haven't had luck with any Nyx palettes so I wasn't expecting it to be as pigmented as it was. I did notice some creasing throughout the day but nothing that couldn't easily be touched up. This is a full size product and retails for $4.50.

Pacifica Natural Waterproof Eye Pencil in Gun Metal
I was interested to try this liner by Pacifica as I recently saw their shadow palettes at Target. This is a pretty pewter (silver/gray). I had a hard time pulling off the plastic wrapped around the cap.  I finally got it off and ended up breaking the tip off the liner. The eyeliner applies nice and smoothly. It is very pigmented and didn't seem to smudge at all. This is a deluxe sample size. The full size product retails for $11.00. I would say this sample is about half the size which would put the price at about $5.50.

I really thought this month's bag was super cute. The material itself is a little cheap but I like the metallic bag with the studs. This is definitely a bag that I will keep in my purse.

Overall, I was so happy with this month's bag. I was thinking of cancelling Ipsy because I just haven't been happy with the product offerings and sizes each month.  I like more makeup based bags and this month was perfect. I feel like they did an excellent job picking items for me. I also love that they listened to their subscribers and put a lot more full size products into this month's bag. The total of this month's bag was $44.49. This is a great value for the $10.00 that I paid for this bag!
